Champions League at Wembley Stadium 2024

2024 UEFA Champions League semifinal draw

Immediately after the quarterfinals, the path to the semi-final fixtures was already pre-determined.

  1. Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich
  2. Paris Saint-Germain vs Borussia Dortmund

Real Madrid

Real Madrid are arguably the favorites to win their record-breaking 15th Champions League title, last winning in 2022. With the team already winning La Liga. the team are confident of reaching Wembley Stadium in London for the final.

In this year’s campaign, Real Madrid breezed through the group games with a perfect record without loss. In the round of 16, they squeezed a slender 2-1 win over RB Leipzig. In a tight match-up against the defending champions Manchester City, Real Madrid won 4-3 on penalties after Andriy Lunin saved two spot kicks. The arrival of Jude Bellingham into the team has been a big boost to the team, he is now vital if Real Madrid are to win. Real Madrid Champions League tickets can be found here.

Paris Saint Germain (PSG)

This might be the season for PSG to claim European glory for the first time, only the second French team to do so. Whilst PSG have suffered slightly after the departure of Messi and Neymar, they seem to be playing better as a team. In a tight group containing AC Milan, Newcastle, and Borussia Dortmund, PSG finished second to qualify for the next round.  The game of PSG vs Barcelona was a fantastic spectacle. However, thanks to a series of red cards and defensive errors from Xavi’s men, PSG came out as the victor, 6-4 on aggregate. Tickets for PSG in the Champions League can found here.

Bayern Munich

This German giants are always a strong team in Europe and this season is no different. Their manager Tuchel has set up a fluid style of play since he arrived at the Munich club. Fans of Bayern are optimistic about securing its 7th European title, however they will have to get past Real Madrid first in the semi-final.

Bayern didn’t suffer any defeat in the group stage, only losing 1-0 to Lazio in one of the legs of their round of 16 ties.  A brace from new signing Harry Kane rescued them in the second leg. The English captain Harry Kane has been instrumental to Bayern Munich’s attacking firepower this season. The elite English forward is hungry for a trophy already winning top scorer in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund

Whilst Borussia Dortmund is the underdog in this year’s European Cup, they cannot be written off, already beating PSG in the first leg of the semi-final tie. Dortmund finished on top of their group above AC Milan and PSG in impressive style.
