Published on 3 June 2025

The excitement is building as the Champions League last-16 draw takes place on Friday, 21 February at 11:00 GMT. Football fans will be looking forward to the draw for all UEFA competitions including the Europa League (12:00) and the Conference League (13:00) draws.

The road to the Champions League final in Munich on Saturday, 31st May, is set to be more thrilling than ever.

Rule for the Draw

  • Teams are seeded in pairs, meaning clubs like Liverpool (1) and Barcelona (2) are on opposite sides of the draw and cannot meet until the final.

Possible Matchups for British Teams

Liverpool vs Paris Saint-Germain

Liverpool will have their work cut out regardless of the opponent. If they draw PSG, they’ll have to contend with a side that humiliated Brest with a staggering 10-0 aggregate win, including a 7-0 thrashing in the second leg. However, the current leaders of the Premier League will be confident that Anfield on a European night will take them through to the next round. Details and information on Liverpool vs PSG tickets will be available here. From previous games, expect tickets start from £200.

Liverpool vs Benfica

A matchup with Portuguese team Benfica would be no walk in the park either, with the giants always proving a difficult opponent for any team. Based on FanSeats data, we expect ticket prices for this game to remain consistent with other games, starting at around £180 to £240 for seats behind the goal. Fan Seats will list all Liverpool vs Benfica matches

Arsenal vs Feyenoord / PSV

Arsenal will face one of two Dutch powerhouses. Feyenoord eliminated AC Milan in the last round, showcasing their ability to compete with top-tier clubs. Meanwhile, PSV pulled off a dramatic extra-time victory over Juventus, proving their resilience. Either way, Arsenal will need to be at their best to progress. For the Arsenal vs Feyenoord match, get tickets here.

Arsenal will be favourites to progress but first they will need to perform well at the Emirates Stadium in North London.  Arsenal vs PSV tickets will be listed here.

Aston Villa vs Club Brugge

Aston Villa’s return to European football has been impressive, but they now face a significant test. Club Brugge took down Atalanta, demonstrating their attacking prowess. With tickets to the away leg in limited supply, the game at Villa park will be here.

Aston Villa vs Borussia Dortmund

Probably the hardest game for the Villa will be against German giants Borussia Dortmund. They completed a solid defensive performance against Sporting (3-0 on aggregate) and have the players to cause Aston Villa problems in both legs.  Tickets for Villa vs Dortmund will be higher demand, based on our analysis and data we believe tickets will cost in excess of £200.

Villa will have to rise to the occasion against either opponent but considering they already beat Bayern Munich in the league format, they will be confident of progressing to the Champions League Quarter Finals.

Other Standout Matches

Other standout matches in the round of 16 are as follows:

  • Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid – The Madrid Derby will be a great spectacle for the neutral.
  • FC Barcelona vs PSG – Another fantastic match with both teams looking to progress, this could be the tie of the round if the draw happens this way.

Looking Ahead

With the draw imminent, fans will be eagerly anticipating these high-stakes matchups. The road to Munich is full of challenges, but for the teams that advance, European glory awaits. Stay tuned for full coverage and analysis as the Champions League knockout stages take shape.
